The tournament which draws the world’s leading tennis players will be held at the Monte Carlo Country Club, a stone’s throw from Port Hercules in which your Monaco yacht charter can be berthed.

The prestigious sporting event has been held at the exclusive club since 1928 and regularly draws audiences of more than 10,000 spectators in the stadium court, also known as the Court Central.

Those embarking on a Mediterranean yacht charter from the glamorous principality of Monaco should note this year’s dates: the tournament runs from Saturday 14 April to Sunday 22 April. The men’s singles qualifying event is being held on Saturday and Sunday April 14 and 15 and the main draw singles event runs from Sunday 15 April through to the Men’s Singles Final day on Sunday 22 April.

Federer_Monte_Carlo_2007_2Last year the men’s singles championship was clinched by No.1 seed Rafael Nadal who defeated No.4 seed David Ferrer in the final 6-4, 7-5 to win a record seventh straight Monte Carlo Open title after capturing his first in 2005.

The world-class sporting event is sponsored by the prestigious Swiss Watch Company Rolex, who recently signed a five year deal with organisers SMETT (Société Monégasque pour l’Exploitation du Tournoi de Tennis).

Zeljko Franulovic, the Director of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, recently said: “The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, which is currently experiencing enormous popularity, is living one of its most memorable moments in its very rich history.

“We are delighted to be able to continue to develop our centenary event in close collaboration with Rolex over the next five years and further reinforce its place in the world of tennis.”

The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters is the first European ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event and marks the start of the clay season. This year will be the 106th edition of the tournament.
